Within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture held an award ceremony for architects


The National Leader Heydar Aliyev, whose name has become a symbol of strategic thinking and modernization, has left an indelible mark on Azerbaijani architecture. During his leadership, many significant architectural projects were realized in the country, marking a true period of renaissance. In this context, the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture held the next event within the framework of the “Heydar Aliyev Year” – an award ceremony for the best project architects of the year across various nominations.
At the event, Ilgar Isbatov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, and Elbay Gasimzade, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Azerbaijani Architects, delivered speeches. The eternal love of the National Leader for the field of architecture was highlighted, and it was noted that holding this event for the first time within the framework of the “Heydar Aliyev Year” carries symbolic significance. It was emphasized that the annual award will play a special role in increasing the number of high-quality and modern projects, strengthening the competitive environment among project architects, and forming new specialists in this field.
Subsequently, the authors of the best architectural projects, selected for their originality and distinctive use of new concepts – architects Elchin Umudov (Baku State Design Institute), Fizuli Aliyev, Ali Mammadov, Maleyka Novruzlu (Design Bureau), Jahangir Mammadrzayev (Baku State Design Institute), Marselina Zielinska (Chapman Taylor), Karlis Saltups (Cobalt Architecture & Design), and Martin Knujit (OKRA) – were awarded in the nominations “Architecture of Multi-Apartment Residential Buildings,” “Architecture of Public Buildings,” “Architecture of Cultural and Religious Monuments,” “Landscape Architecture,” “Restoration and Reconstruction of Buildings,” and “Architecture of Transport, Communication, and Engineering Structures.” Additionally, some architects were presented with incentive diplomas.
